About Shellac™ polish
Shellac polish is hardened with an LED lamp, which gives the polish a long duration. Shellac is our lightest nail polish service, and during the treatment you don’t need to file the surface your own nail at all. Normal nail polish lasts flawlessly on the nails for a few days, long-lasting Shellac polish stays beautiful from a couple of weeks to even a month. The duration of shellac is affected by the condition of your own nail, such as whether the nail flakes naturally and whether it is thin and flexible. Shellac long-lasting nail polish does not wear off like regular nail polish, but it is still worth protecting your nails with rubber gloves, for example, when working in the yard or at home. The typical maintenance interval for Shellac is 2-3 weeks.
Shellac can be maintained, so your nails will remain well-groomed at all times. With each maintenance, the shade and style of your nails can be changed. In connection with each treatment, we take care of the cuticles and clean the nails.
One-coloured Shellac™ polish
One-coloured nails are a classic and safe choice! Polish with one colour also works easily with different outfits and styles. The most popular shades in Shellac lacquers are nude and red. In the spring and summer seasons, pastel shades and bold and bright colors are often preferred for nails. In autumn and winter, darker shades are seen on the nails more often than in other seasons. The shade of Shellac can also be changed with each nail appointment.
French or gradient babyboomer nails
French nail style is a super stylish choice for nails and a timeless classic! Typically, in French nail style, the tip is made with white polish, but colorful variations are also possible. The modern version of the French nails is the gradient babyboomer. Babyboomer has become a very popular style in nails, and typically babyboomer uses white and nude shades. With Shellac babyboomer can only be done in white. French and babyboomer polishes are popular styles, especially for weddings and other parties.
All inclusive MINI polish
All inclusive MINI polishes include simple nail decorations such as foils, glitters, chromes and individual diamonds. Paintings are not part of the all inclusive MINI.
Decorative All inclusive Shellac™ polish
Our All inclusive polish includes decorative polish styles. The base can be one-coloured, French or babyboomer, glitter or other decorations. Various unique, abstract, simple or spectacular nail paintings can also be done in connection with the All inclusive nail polish. Our nail artists offer different levels of decoration, so we recommend getting to know our manicurists’ decoration skills and work sample photos before booking a treatment appointment.
Shellac is the lightest option in our nail polish selection. Long-lasting nail polish looks a lot like traditional nail polish, but the hardening is done under UV light. In this way, aShellac lasts longer than traditional nail polish. The lightness of CrystaLac gel polish is between Shellac and Natural Nail Overlay service. Gel polish already gives a little support and durability to the nail. It can also be used to correct small unevenness of the nail. The polish is still very light and natural-looking.
Shellac is best suited for normal nails that are not particularly worn or strained in everyday life. Gel polish is suitable for normal and weaker and thinner nails. It is also perfectly suited to a more active lifestyle.
In our beauty salons, you can find a wide selection of CND’s Shellac polishes. The range of shades includes the so-called basic selection, salon’s own shades and seasonal colors. Please note that not all lacquer shades visible in e.g. social media photos may always be available at all locations, as there may be differences in salon-specific shade selections. Our Shellac service selection also includes decorative all-inclusive polish, which includes the decorations you want. However, we kindly ask you to note that our manicurists are individuals with their own strengths, and there may be differences in decorating skills. If you are looking for a specific style of decoration or a more demanding implementation, we recommend that you check out the work samples of our manicurists on our team page, so that you can find the most suitable nail professional for you.

Changing Shellac™ polish to natural nail overlay service
If you have a Shellac polish made at Blue Lagoon Beauty that you want to change to natural nail overlay, you can directly book an appointment natural nail overlay refill service according to the style you choose (one-coloured, French / babyboomer / decorative all inclusive).
Changing Shellac™ polish to artificial nails
If you want to change your Shellac polish to artificial nails, you can make an appointment directly for new artificial nails. In connection with the treatment, + 15 € will be charged for changing the service.
Dry nails, for example due to the weather or hormonal reasons, can cause nails to dry out and split. Constant washing and disinfecting of hands can also dry hands and nails, which is why it would be good to grease hands. The best friend for dry nails is cuticle oil, which you should remember to use regularly. We do not recommend Shellac for chipping, cracking or flaking nails. Light protection and support can be obtained with gel polish for slightly chipped and cracked nails. Sometimes gel polish can provide the necessary little protection to the nails, which also allows natural nails to get stronger and grow. If the nails are cracking or chipping heavily, or if the problem has lasted for a long time, a Natural Nail Overlay is probably a better option than gel polish. A nail professional will gladly advise you on the most suitable solution for your nails!
Shellac is always removed by dissolving, which makes the removal very gentle on the nails. Removal sets designed for home use are also sold to remove Shellac, with which you can also remove Shellac at home. Shellac should never be torn off. Please note that if you have had Shellac applied at another salon, you must first book an appointment at Blue Lagoon for gel polish removal and then for a new Shellac polish. Unfortunately, we do not service Shellac / gel polishes made by another salons.
In connection with Shellac treatment, it is possible to choose IBX treatment as an additional service. The IBX treatment is a keratin treatment for the natural nail that strengthens and repairs the nail. The IBX treatment does not leave an extra layer on the nail, but the treatment is absorbed into the layers of the nail with the help of heat. IBX treatment is an excellent service for flaking natural nails. The use of Dadi Oil cuticle oil extends the durability of Shellac by moisturizing the natural nail and cuticles. We recommend that you always get cuticle oil when having Shellac, so that your nails stay in as good condition as possible.

IBX treatment can be used with all of our nail services. The treatment will strengthen the nail plate and give the nail protection. This can also be used if you want your natural nails to grow strong & long. We have also had good results with this treatment in treating long term nail traumas.
This treatment is not recommended if you are allergic to acrylate.
If your gel polish has been applied elsewhere than at Blue Lagoon Beauty, we will remove the varnish using an electric file, as we cannot be sure of the materials used, and if the polish can be removed by dissolving. Electric file removal is slightly faster than dissolving.
Please note: this service can only be booked in connection with new polishes.

Lokakuussa Ainolle tehtiin perusteellinen jalkahoito all inclusive pedikyyri -palvelulla. "All inclusive pedikyyri on samalla kokonaisvaltaisesti jalkoja hoitava, mutta myös ihanan hemmotteleva palvelu. Hoito aloitettiin rentouttavalla jalkakylvyllä, jonka jälkeen tehtiin jalkojen kuorinta. Kuorinnan jälkeen poistettiin jaloista kuivaa ja kuollutta ihosolukkoa, jonka jälkeen laitettiin ihana kosteuttava naamio. Vinkkinä: naamiot ja voiteet imeytyvät paremmin, kun kuollutta ihosolukkoa on saatu poistettua. Tästä hoito jatkui hieronnalla, joka stimuloi myös jalkojen verenkiertoa ja rentouttaa kokonaisvaltaisesti. Lopuksi tehtiin vielä yksivärinen shellac-kestolakkaus ja laitettiin loppuvoiteet."
