Artificial nails in Blue Lagoon Beauty
At Blue Lagoon, we only use molds to build the extension, i.e. the whole nail is only acrygel or gel mass. We do not use nail glue or tips. Molds make for a more natural look and are stronger, because there is no adhesive bond between your own nail and the artificial nail, which could become brittle during use.
The recommended maintenance interval for structural nails is 3-4 weeks, depending on the growth of your own nail. In maintenance, the old mass is filed and the growth is filled to the base. Every service has the possibility to change the style of the nails.
Artificial nails do not damage your own nail if properly applied and maintained. It is therefore absolutely important that the technician is a professional in the use of a file or an electric file. We do not recommend that customers file the nails (other than shortening) or use glue if any damage occurs and the material comes off the surface of the nail.
There is no need to take a break from artificial nails if the nails are well done. According to urban legend, nails cannot breathe under artificial nails, but in reality, if properly cared for, nails can last for several years. We do not recommend artificial nails for the still growing and developing nails of young customers, which is why our age limit for artificial nails is 16 years.
Nail polish shades for artificial nails
In our beauty salons, you can find a wide selection of gel polishes, which we use for painting the artificial nails. If you wish, the nails can also be left unpainted, if you want a result that is as natural as possible and even slightly translucent. Our range of shades includes the so-called basic selection, salon’s own shades and seasonal colors. Please note that not all lacquer shades visible in e.g. social media photos may always be available at all locations, as there may be differences in salon-specific shade selections.
Long nails & nail decorations
If you want long artificial nails or nail decorations, book the necessary extra services in addition to the nail service. If you want long decorative nails, you must book from the extra services: “Extra service for long artificial nails” and the desired decoration service, e.g. “Extra service – All inclusive nail decorations”.
Long nails
Book an extra service for long nails if the final measurement of the structure from the cuticle area to the tip of the structure is at least 2.5 cm. Making long nails requires special skills and can take more time.
Small design
Small Design includes simple nail decorations created using one technique, such as foil, glitter, chrome, individual rhinestones, as well as French or Baby Boomer designs. Hand-painted nail art is not included in Small Design.
French or baby boomer painting
A French or baby boomer is a French polish made with white or with colour or baby boomer (faded French).
Custom design
This service includes a decorative polish. The base can be a single-colour polish, French or Baby Boomer design, glitter, or another decorative finish. With Custom Design decorations, we can create, for example, unique, abstract or simple hand-painted designs, as well as larger rhinestone arrangements.
Master design
This service includes bold and more advanced nail art. The professionals offering this service specialise in statement designs, such as more artistic hand-painted nail art, and have extensive expertise in a wide range of decoration techniques. With the Master service, we can create, for example, a different custom design for each nail, planned just for you.

We often talk about the color of the nail polish or nail decorations, but forget that the shape of the nails has a lot to do with how the hands and fingers look. There is a wide selection of nail shapes and there is no single correct one. By changing the style of your nails, you can get a completely new look for yourself. Everyone is sure to find their favorite among the many models. When choosing the shape of your nails, you should pay attention to the model of your own hands and fingers. Our nail technicians know how to evaluate the most suitable shape for your needs and nails.

Changing from artificial nails to gel polish
When switching to gel polish, nail extensions must always be removed first. If you would like a single-colour gel polish, please book the service “Nail Extension Removal + Gel Polish”.
Changing artificial nails to natural nail overlay
If you would like to switch from nail extensions to Natural Nail Overlay, you can book a new Natural Nail Overlay maintenance appointment and your preferred nail art service. An additional €15 service change fee will be charged during the appointment.

Each of our nail technicians has completed training that has developed their technical fluency, product knowledge, time management, and ability to work with more challenging nails.
Nail services are a craft, and each of our professionals has their own individual style and unique expertise when it comes to nail art and decorations.
Blue Lagoon Beauty purchases the service from an external service provider. According to the agreement, each service provider is responsible for the work they do.
