Acrygel nails
Acrygel is a UV-hardened mass that is thicker than traditional gel. Acrygel is shaped with an orange stick and a brush, using liquid as an aid so that the product does not stick to the work tool. As a material, Acrygel is flexible, but very durable. Thanks to its flexibility, it “lives” with the natural nail better than harder materials. For this reason, Acrygel can be better suited to weaker, thinner and more flexible nails than other materials.
Gel nails
Traditional gel masses harden in UV light and have different flexibilities, from harder masses to very flexible masses. The viscosity of the mass determines whether it is more runny or stiff when shaped. When choosing a mass, the purpose of use and the characteristics of the customer’s natural nails are taken into account.
Artificial nails in Blue Lagoon Beauty
In our Blue Lagoon beauty salons, we have priced our artificial nail services according to the skill level of the nail technician! We offer pro and junior level artificial nails so you can choose the solution that best suits your needs and budget.
At Blue Lagoon, we only use molds to build the extension, i.e. the whole nail is only acrygel or gel mass. We do not use nail glue or tips. Molds make for a more natural look and are stronger, because there is no adhesive bond between your own nail and the artificial nail, which could become brittle during use.
The recommended maintenance interval for structural nails is 3-4 weeks, depending on the growth of your own nail. In maintenance, the old mass is filed and the growth is filled to the base. Every service has the possibility to change the style of the nails.
Artificial nails do not damage your own nail if properly applied and maintained. It is therefore absolutely important that the technician is a professional in the use of a file or an electric file. We do not recommend that customers file the nails (other than shortening) or use glue if any damage occurs and the material comes off the surface of the nail.
There is no need to take a break from artificial nails if the nails are well done. According to urban legend, nails cannot breathe under artificial nails, but in reality, if properly cared for, nails can last for several years. We do not recommend artificial nails for the still growing and developing nails of young customers, which is why our age limit for artificial nails is 16 years.
Nail polish shades & nail decorations for artificial nails
In our beauty salons, you can find a wide selection of CrystaLac polishes, which we use for painting the artificial nails. If you wish, the nails can also be left unpainted, if you want a result that is as natural as possible and even slightly translucent. Our range of shades includes the so-called basic selection, salon’s own shades and seasonal colors. Please note that not all lacquer shades visible in e.g. social media photos may always be available at all locations, as there may be differences in salon-specific shade selections.
Longer artificial nail appointments include the decorations you want, but please note that the length of the nail service you book determines what will be done to the nails during the service. You can find detailed descriptions of nail services in our price list. We kindly ask you to note that our nail technicians are individuals with their own strengths, and there may be differences in decorating skills. If you wish for a certain style of decoration or a more demanding nail design, we recommend you to check out the work samples of our nail professionals on our team page, so that you can find the most suitable professional for you.

We often talk about the color of the nail polish or nail decorations, but forget that the shape of the nails has a lot to do with how the hands and fingers look. There is a wide selection of nail shapes and there is no single correct one. By changing the style of your nails, you can get a completely new look for yourself. Everyone is sure to find their favorite among the many models. When choosing the shape of your nails, you should pay attention to the model of your own hands and fingers. When switching to gel polish, the artificial nails must always be removed first. If you want a single-color gel polish, make an appointment for the “Artificial nail removal + CrystaLac gel polish” service. If, on the other hand, you want e.g. decorations for the polish, then book an appointment for “Artificial nail removal + IBX” and for the new CrystaLac gel polish according to the style you choose (French / babyboomer / decorative, all inclusive MINI or all inclusive).
Changing artificial nails done in Blue Lagoon Beauty or elsewhere to natural nail overlay
If you have artificial nails done at Blue Lagoon Beauty or elsewhere, you can book an appointment directly for the new natural nail overlay service according to the style you choose (one-coloured / French / baby boomer / decorative all inclusive). In connection with the treatment, + 15 € will be charged for changing the service.
The skill levels of our nail technicians
Pro-level artificial nails
A pro-level nail technician is competent in basic technique and different nail styles. The technique, the use of time, product knowledge and making challenging nails are developed by a pro-level nail technician. Making nails is a craft, as is making decorations on nails. If you bite your nails, have really short nails or wish for special and impressive nails, we recommend you make an appointment with a pro-level nail technician. Each of our nail professionals has an individual style and their own expertise in nail decoration.
Junior level artificial nails
A junior nail technician knows the basic technique. If necessary, the technician gets help in the salon from a pro-level nail professional. The finish is neat and the product knowledge is basic. Time management is more advanced than a trainee-level nail technician. In terms of decorating skills, there may be differences between junior level nail technicians. We use acrygel or gel as the material for artificial nails, but please note that not all junior level nail technicians necessarily master all different masses.

Our pro level technicians are very educated in product knowledge, time management, and they are also good in making challenging nails. There can be differences between the pro technicians skills in making nail decorations.

The artificial nails can be very natural or very showy or anything in between. The materials we use are acrygel (former polygel), acryl or gel. The material will be chosen listening to the customers wishes and depending on the customers nail.
If you bite your nails this will be the perfect solution for you! Artificial nails will cover the damages or problems in your nail, and you are not so willing to bite them anymore.
The age limit for artificial nails is 16 years.
Add on service: IBX Treatment
IBX treatment can be used with all of our nail services. The treatment will strengthen the nail plate and give the nail protection. This can also be used if you want your natural nails to grow strong & long. We have also had good results with this treatment in treating long term nail traumas.

Soinnun asuna toimi upea vihreä Riikka Couturen iltapuku, joka on koristeltu kauttaaltaan näyttävillä strasseilla. Tässä kynsihuollossa Soinnulle tehtiin kaunis ja klassinen babyboomerlook pienellä twistillä. Babyboomerin päälle laitettiin nimittäin valkoinen chrome, joka tekee kynsilookista helmiäisvivahteisen. Pohjamassana käytettiin kaunista nuden sävyä nimeltään Jelly nude. Lopputulos sopii tammikuun talvisiin maisemiin täydellisesti.

Tiger Eye -kynsilook on täydellinen valinta Halloween-kynsiin! 🖤 💜
"Tiger Eye on metallinen lakkaus mitä voi olla ihan yksvärisenä (esimerkiksi Kalliossa kultainen ja hopea) tai duochrome efektillä (Kalliossa Infinity 2). Duochrome efekti merkitsee sitä, että look vaihtaa väriä valosta ja sen suunnasta riippuen.
Tiger eye lakka reagoi magneettiin, millä saadaan niin kutsuttu liikkuva efekti aikaan. Magneetilla pystyy vaikuttamaan miten lakka "liikkuu" valossa (vaakasuora, pystysuora, vino yms.) Kun lakka on kovettunut UV-valossa, se ei enää ole magneettinen eli vaikka koskisi magneettiin, ei lakan efekti muutu. Tiger Eye -lakkojen pohjalle toimivat ideaalisti tummat sävyt. Vaaleiden sävyjen kanssa efekti ei toimi.
