Preparation for treatments and home care instructions

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the service you have booked on this page before coming for treatment. On this page, you will also find the general recommendations for home care for all our services, as well as instructions for preparing for treatment. At Blue Lagoon, we give most of our services a guarantee of 1-2 weeks after the treatment. You can see the guarantee terms for each treatment below. Please contact us if you have any questions about our services, preparation for treatment or home care instructions.

Preparing for eyelash extensions

  • Our eyelash technicians are skilled in several styles from natural to really impressive, and know how to recommend suitable and safe styles according to the customer’s wishes, natural eyelashes and eye shape. However, we recommend that you already look for pictures of eyelashes that please you, so that we can best make eyelashes that match your wishes.
  • Please come to eyelash extensions with as clean eyelashes as possible, without eye make-up. Our eyelash technicians always perform an initial cleaning before application, but if there is a lot of makeup on the eyelashes, some residues may remain even after cleaning. This weakens the permanence of the eyelash extensions, because a permanent adhesive bond requires completely clean natural eyelashes underneath.
  • Please remove the contact lenses from the eyes before your lash extension appointment.
  • If you have weak eyelashes and you want to strengthen them, you can use an eyelash serum that matches with lash extensions.

When lash extensions can not be done?

  • The age limit for our lash extensions is 16 years.
  • If you have an eye infection or other inflammation in the eye area or lids, unfortunately, for hygiene reasons, we cannot do eyelash extensions for you.
  • If you have a confirmed allergy to acrylates or other eyelash extension glue ingredients, unfortunately we cannot make eyelash extensions for you.
  • Eyelash extensions can only be done on healthy eyes. If you have fresh eyeliner pigmentation or other open wounds near your eyes, these should heal before applying eyelash extensions. If you have a disease that affects your eyes or eyelashes, or if you have had an eye-related procedure, please contact your doctor before applying extensions.

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. It is good to note that hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect e.g. skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, hair, etc., so if pregnancy or breastfeeding are not mentioned in the barriers to the service, taking treatment measures during pregnancy and breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

Home care instructions for eyelash extensions

The primary and most important home care for lash extensions is regular care with the right kind of products. Extensions should be cleaned daily with a cleaning product intended for them. The function of natural eyelashes is to protect the eyes from dust, dirt, grease and sweat. Eyelash extensions glued to your own eyelashes collect them easily, which is why daily cleaning is very important. The cleaning product intended for eyelash extensions takes care of the hygiene of the eyelash extensions and the eyes, improves the permanence of the eyelash extensions, and keeps the volume lash fans beautifully open.

You can wet your eyelashes already the same evening after having your lash extensions done. However, please avoid saunas for 24 hours.

  • Clean the extensions 1-2 times a day with a cleaning product intended for them, which you can buy in our beauty salon. You can use a brush to help with cleaning.
  • Always clean your eyelashes also after sweating, swimming or tears.
  • After washing, dry the eyelashes by pressing lightly.
  • Always brush your eyelashes after washing after they have dried, and at other times if necessary.
  • Maintain your eyelashes regularly about every 2-4 weeks.
  • Please always come to lash extension appointment with the cleanest possible eyelashes. Despite the initial cleaning done by the eyelash technician, makeup residues etc. may remain at the base of the eyelashes if the lashes have not been cared for properly at home.

Avoid these with lash extensions

  • The use of oily products near the eyes should be avoided. Oil weakens the durability of the adhesive bond.
  • The use of cleaning products other than those intended for eyelash extensions when cleaning eyelashes should be avoided. Cleansers intended for the face often contain ingredients unsuitable for extensions, which can weaken the permanence of the extensions, and their ingredients are designed to optimally meet the needs of the skin and maintain the skin’s moisture. The products intended for lash extensions are optimized for eye hygiene and the best possible permanence of the extensions.
  • Mascara should not be used with eyelash extensions.
  • Heavy use of eye makeup can weaken the permanence of the extensions, as residues of them easily remain at the base of the eyelashes. Please check that the products you use are oil-free and water-soluble, waterproof makeup should not be used near eyelash extensions.
  • Also avoid excessive touching and rubbing of the eyelashes, and do not bend the extensions with eyelash curlers either.
  • Frequent use of sauna can weaken the permanence of the extensions. During the first day, the sauna must be completely avoided.
  • You should be careful with cotton swabs and pads with eyelash extensions, because they can easily tear the eyelashes and they can leave fibers in the eyelashes.

Possible reasons why lash extensions might not last:

  • Eyelashes being dirty (makeup residue or oil) before applying, or eyes leaking when applying. In this case, the glue bond with the natural eyelash will not be strong, and the fibers will come off quickly after the appointment.
  • Bad washing, insufficient home care or home care with unsuitable products, and a flu, when a large amount of discharge is secreted.
  • In summer, the permanence may be weaker, e.g. due to humid air, sweating, swimming and saunas.
  • Some medications, antibiotics, diseases (e.g. thyroid diseases), eating omega-3, biotin or other supplements that affect the condition of the hair and lashes can change the quality of your own eyelashes and weaken the permanence of eyelash extensions.
  • Use of oily products, use of oily eye drops, heavy makeup on eye lids or use of mascara.
  • Rubbing of eyelashes and discharge of eyes.
  • A natural eyelash with a glassy texture or oily skin can affect the permanence of the eyelash.
  • Hormones (pregnancy, breastfeeding, e-pills or other hormonal contraceptives and stress) can affect the quality and growth of eyelashes and thereby also the permanence of eyelash extensions.
  • Sleeping with your face against the pillow.
  • The growth rate of the natural eyelash affects how quickly the eyelashes are renewed. With normal regeneration, the natural eyelash constantly falls off, so the eyelash extension also comes off with the eyelash.
  • If the eyelash extensions have not been applied correctly or bad glue has been used (outdated glue or the used glue drop has been changed too infrequently), this has an impact on the permanence of the eyelash extensions.
  • Applying conditions, such as temperature and air humidity, affect the behavior of the lash glue and the permanence of the eyelash extensions.

The guarantee of our lash extensions

If, during the following days, you notice an exceptionally large amount of fibers coming off or something unusual, or you otherwise have questions about the service or product you received, please contact laadunvalvonta@bluelagoon.fi without delay.

In our lash extension services, a possible complaint must be made within a week from the time of the service. We handle each complaint on a case-by-case basis. Our warranty conditions include careful compliance with home care instructions.

Please note that the natural life cycle of eyelashes is individually about 4-12 weeks, during which all eyelashes are renewed. So it’s quite normal for around 1-5 eyelashes to fall out per day per eye. Along with the eyelash, the fibers attached to it also come off. As the adhesive bond ages, some random fibers or volume fans may also come off as they are, without their own lash.

Preparation for Lash Lift

  • We recommend coming to the treatment without mascara if possible, so that your treatment time is not spent on cleaning the mascara. If necessary, we clean the mascara at the beginning of the treatment, but especially water-resistant mascara should be avoided before coming to the treatment.
  • Contact lenses should be removed before treatment.
  • After removing eyelash extensions, you should wait one growth season (about 8 weeks) before Lash Lift.
  • Lash Lift can be performed on eyelashes approximately every 8 weeks.
  • The age limit for Lash and Brow Lift and permanent tinting is 16 years.
  • Use of antihistamine: use of antihistamine before the service may cause dryness in the eyes. Lash Lift can be done, but it should be done carefully and following the customer’s reactions.
  • Regular use of oils on the eyelashes can potentially make the eyelashes an oil film, so that the substances that affect the Lash Lift may not be able to work as effectively, and the end result may be light. Eyelashes can react to the use of oily products individually, and for some the use of oils has no significant consequences, while for others even small amounts of oil in the eyelashes can already affect the final result. It would be a good idea to stop using oily products on your eyelashes a few weeks before Lash Lift. It is also not recommended to use the oil between your Lash Lift appointments.
  • For customers with dry eyes, sensitization to the glue may be more likely.
  • Eye diseases, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy or glaucoma are not an obstacle to the Lash Lift treatment.

Contraindications – obstacles to Lift services:

  • The age limit for Lift services is 16 years
  • Product allergies
  • Wounded skin in eyebrow shaping
  • Eye and eyelid infections in Lash Lift
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Alopecia
  • Cytostat and radiation treatments
  • Trichotillomania

Home care instructions after Lash Lift

  • Eyelashes must not be washed or put on makeup for the first 24 hours, as it weakens the effect of Lash Lift. Please note that if you eat supplements that affect eyelash growth, the lift may take a shorter time than expected on your eyelashes, because as the eyelashes grow, the curling result gradually disappears from the eyelashes. Lash Lift does not straighten during 8 weeks, but the curling “grow out” as your eyelashes grow and renew. The life cycle of a natural eyelash is 8-10 weeks.
  • We recommend moisturizing your eyelashes with an oil-free and colorless eyelash serum twice a day. In this way, the eyelashes remain well-groomed and moisturized throughout the growth period.
  • You can use mascara and remove make-up without worry even if you had Lash Lift. However, we recommend avoiding the use of waterproof mascara. If you think your lashes are too lifted or straight, we can lighten or strengthen the result within the next 7 days from the initial appointment. In that case, please contact us as soon as possible and send accurate pictures of your eyelashes to our email. laadunvalvonta@bluelagoon.fi

Preparation for permanent tinting

  • Before permanent tinting of the eyebrows, it would be good to exfoliate the skin in the area of the eyebrows at home, so that the end result is as even as possible and the color does not stick darker to drier areas of the skin.
  • Some of the self-tanning ingredients applied to the face can react with the eyebrow color, so the use of self-tanning products should be avoided two days before coloring and two days after coloring.
  • We recommend coming to the treatment without mascara if possible, so that your treatment time is not spent on cleaning the mascara. Especially water-resistant mascara should be avoided before coming to the treatment.
  • The permanent colors we use do not contain PPD, but the permanent colors contain a PPD derivative (toluene-2,5-Diamine).

Obstacles to permanent tinting

  • The age limit for permanent tinting is 16 years
  • Permanent tinting cannot be done if you are allergic to one of the ingredients in the product.
  • Wounded skin in the treated area
  • Eye and eyelid infections are an obstacle to permanent eyelash tinting.

After eyebrow shaping

After shaping the eyebrows, the skin may have a slight redness. Sugaring and waxing can also cause a slight tingling and warming sensation, which is completely normal and often calms down in no time. After shaping your brows, our Brow Bar professional applies concealer to your brows, and you’re ready to go straight to town right after the treatment!

Especially after sugaring and waxing, you should avoid heavy sweating, swimming or exfoliating products in the eyebrow area during the same day. You should also protect yourself well from the sun.

Things to consider before eyebrow lamination

Treating your eyebrows at home with a keratin serum is very important. Whenever the hair is treated, there should be care products at home that moisturize, treat and maintain the condition of the hair. You can buy the keratin serum in our beauty salons in connection with the service. It can be used for eyebrows and eyelashes.

Laminating the brows makes the hairs more porous, so the permanent color sticks to them stronger than normal. Your brows may be slightly darker 1-2 days after the service until you wash your brows for the first time after treatment. This can be done after 24 hours. Permanent color is kept for at least the minimum time, so that the color stays in the eyebrows for as long as possible. We have many different shade options that can be customized according to your wishes.

We recommend taking the service at least four days before an important trip, so that the color in your brows is slightly lighter from the first treatment.

Some of the self-tanning agents applied to the face react with the eyebrow dye, so the use of self-tanner should be avoided at least two days before coloring and two days after coloring.

For sparse / thin eyebrows you may not get the desired thicker end result. If you are worried about booking the service, you can send a picture of your eyebrows for consultation to info@bluelagoon.fi.

Lamination is typically renewed every 8-12 weeks, depending on the growth cycle of your own eyebrows.

Use of oils on eyebrows

Regular use of oils in eyebrows makes so-called oil film, in which case the substances affecting the lamination cannot work as effectively, and the final result may remain light. Eyebrows react to the use of oily products individually. Certain oils have no significant consequences, while for others, even small amounts of oil in the eyebrows can have a strong effect on the final result. According to the most recent recommendation, the use of oil-containing products in the brows should be stopped already 4-8 weeks before lamination. Oil is also not recommended between the Brow Lift treatments.

Contraindications to Brow Lift

Allergies
Allergic reactions are extremely rare. However, it is possible that the skin of the eyebrows may react to the lamination materials with redness or itching. Customers allergic to cosmetics must undergo an allergy test before the service. Note An official allergy test can only be performed by a doctor.

Pregnancy and breast feeding
The body’s hormonal balance changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and it also affects hair growth. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend taking the service only when the hormone activity has balanced, in order to get the desired end result. There is a possibility that the eyebrows will not set as desired due to hormones.

Alopecia
Brow lamination treatment cannot be performed on a client with alopecia.

Cytostat or radiotherapy
It is not recommended for cytostatic or radiotherapy patients to do lamination during treatments.

Trichotillomania
A person suffering from trichotillomania, i.e. compulsive plucking of eyelashes, hair or eyebrows. Can’t do lamination.

Age limit
The age limit for Brow Lift is 16 years.

Eye infections
If you have an eye infection, we do not recommend taking the service when the inflammation is active.

Home care instructions after Brow Lift

The brows must not be washed or put on make-up for the first 24 hours, as it weakens the effect of the lamination and may dry out the hair. If you eat supplements that affect hair growth, the lamination may take a shorter time, because as the eyebrows grow, the lamination gradually disappears from the eyebrows. Brow Lift does not “disappear” during 8 weeks, instead it grows out as your brows grow and regenerate. The life cycle of eyebrows is 8-12 weeks.

The use of keratin mascara is highly recommended and important after lamination, so that the moisture balance and general condition of the brows remains throughout the growth period. Keratin mascara is oil-free and is used in the morning and evening. You can also use it on your eyelashes under mascara. You can buy keratin mascara from our beauty salons.

You can use brow make-up and remove make-up without worry, even if you have had brow lamination done. We do not recommend using waterproof make-up in the eyebrows after lamination. For makeup removal, we recommend oil-free makeup removal products.

If you feel that the design of the Brow Lift is made too strongly upwards or they do not seem to settle into place, we can do a repair treatment for them within the next 7 days after the original service. In this case, please contact the beauty salon as soon as possible.

Preparation for artificial nails

  • You can remove the regular nail polish from your nails if you want, but this is not necessary.
  • When the nails are in good condition, the artificial nails also stay better, so you can start using nail oil even before applying the artificial nails.
  • You don’t need to know what kind of nails you want, our nail technicians know how to design nails with you.
  • Age limit for artificial nails is 16 years.

Contraindications

  • Acrylate allergy
  • Infection in the surrounding skin or nail
  • Fungal infection
  • Onycholysis if the area is more than 1/4 of the nail
  • Onychomadesis
  • Suspection of melanoma
  • Bruise if the area is more than 1/4 of the nail bed
  • The age limit for our nail services is 16 years

Home care instructions for artificial nails nails

The maintenance time for artificial nails is 3-5 weeks on average. The personal maintenance time depends on the condition of your own nail, the stress on the nail and the rate of nail growth. The maintenance time must be observed, because as the nail grows, the support built on the artificial nail grows with the nail, and the long-grown nails no longer protect the natural nails well enough. Cuticles should be oiled daily with Dadi Oil cuticle oil, as it improves the condition of your own nails and skin, which contributes to better durability of artificial nails.

In addition to nail maintenance, the customer should note:

  • Although nails are hard, they cannot be used as “tools”, i.e. to open cans/lids with nails
  • Nails cannot be left in the doorway or under heavy objects
  • You shouldn’t put unnecessary strain on your nails. Hard shocks and bumps can break the nail, and in the worst case, damage the natural nail. In
  • these situations, nail repair is not covered by the guarantee.
  • When pressing the buttons with the nail, unnecessary pressure can be applied to the nail.
  • When using chemicals and strong detergents, you should protect your nails. Strong substances are not good for the skin, but they can also damage the structure of the nail.
  • Don’t tear, chip or cut the artificial nail. The nail mass on top of your own nail must not be removed other than by filing.

The guarantee of our artificial nails

New artificial nails made at Blue Lagoon always have a 1-week  (7 days) guarantee after the appointment. If you have come to the structural nail service with structural nails made elsewhere, the nails cannot necessarily be guaranteed, if the nails made elsewhere are not done right or if the nails use technique (e.g. tips) that we do not use.

The guarantee covers possible mistakes, defects or breakages caused by the work and the product used. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by the customer’s use, which is caused by neglecting the home care instructions. Detachment due to the poor condition of your own nail or if the artificial nails are too long for your own natural nail are not covered by the guarantee.

If you have questions about your nails after the nail appointment, something worries you, or your nails break, always contact our quality control as soon as possible: laadunvalvonta@bluelagoon.fi. You must contact us about issues covered by the guarantee during the guarantee period (7 days from the treatment appointment). To speed up the processing of the matter, please include a picture of the nail/nails in the message, as well as an explanation of what happened as accurately as possible.

Preparation for nail service (gel polish and Natural nail overlay)

  • If you want, you can remove the regular nail polish from your nails, before your nail appointment. However, this is not necessary.
  • The condition of the nail always affects the permanence of the gel polish and the Natural nail overlay. Daily use of cuticle oil even before the nail appointment helps the polish / nails last.
  • When making an appointment, consider whether you want a one-color, French or decorative polish and make an appointment to correct service.
  • IBX treatment is recommended as an additional treatment for clients who, for example, have a really chipped, brittle nail.
  • Age limit for gel polish and natural nail overlay is 16 years.

Home care instructions for nail services

Your nails are jewelry, not tools. For this reason, we recommend you treat them nicely and follow the home care instructions. We grant a seven (7) day quality guarantee for all our nail services. The quality guarantee covers possible problems and mistakes caused by the service. The validity of the quality guarantee requires compliance with the home care instructions. The quality guarantee does not cover, for example, broken nails caused by trauma, natural wear and tear of nails, detachment of individual crystals or neglect of home care instructions.

Always get in touch with our quality control if something happens to your nails or you notice something out of the ordinary. Let’s see together what we can do and how to fix it.

We recommend using a high-quality cuticle oil at least twice a day. However, you can use the oil more often and in certain cases it is recommended. Apply cuticle oil to the skin around the nails and under the nails. This helps to keep the skin around the nails beautiful and moisturized between the appointments. It also extends the duration of your nails and also prevents certain types of durability problems.

With CrystaLac gel polishes and the Natural nail overlay services, it is recommended to apply oil also on top of the nail itself. This helps the nails / polish maintain its flexibility and thus it lives better with the natural nail.

In our beauty salons, you can find high-quality Dadi Oil cuticle oils. If necessary, ask your nail technician for more information.

We recommend using a high-quality hand cream at least twice a day. This helps to keep your skin always beautiful and moisturized.

We always recommend the use of warm gloves in connection with large temperature changes. When it’s warm, the natural nail expands, and when it’s cold, it contracts strongly. In such situations, the nail masses do not live as strongly or at all and this may cause durability problems.

Flexible masses such as CrystaLac gel polish or Natural nail overlay “stiffen” in the cold, momentarily losing their flexibility. This exposes the polish and the nails to breaks and cracks. Especially in the winter time, always put gloves on your hand already inside, even for short trips.

  • Wash the nail area daily with a nail brush and maintain good hygiene. Disinfect your hands whenever necessary.
  • You never use your nails as tools. This prevents nail wear, durability problems and nail breakage.
  • Do not tap, twist, pluck, bite, tear or otherwise stress your nails or the skin around them. Such constant different stresses on the nails can lead to durability problems or nail breakage. Skin breaks and wounds can be an obstacle to the service and/or make it difficult to produce a perfect end result.
  • Please be careful when pressing buttons, etc. Use, for example, your knuckles or another aid, such as a pen. This prevents stress on the nails, which can lead to durability problems or nail breakage.
  • Please wear protective gloves when dealing with coloring food substances (e.g. turmeric, blueberries, citrus fruits, etc.), hair dyes, color masks, etc. This prevents discoloration of the nails or the skin around them. Please note that the matte surface is more sensitive to staining than the glossy surface.
  • Please always wear protective gloves when cleaning, when dealing with strong chemicals such as cleaning chemicals, when doing dishes, gardening, etc. This protects your nails from wear, dirt, breakage and possible durability problems. This procedure also protects the skin of your hands.
You must be careful when lifting boxes, digging things out of e.g. a bag, opening car doors, using zippers/seat belts/child seats, etc. This prevents possible stability problems and broken nails.

Preparing for microblading

  • Check out the service information on our website first
  • You should be prepared for a little redness, it occurs in almost all customers. However, very severe redness is rare. Different skin types react differently to the procedure, so keep that in mind when making plans for the next few hours after microblading.
  • Come to the procedure with light makeup. Do not wear heavy makeup on the same day as the procedure. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear makeup at all. Normal daily light makeup is ok. However, don’t put makeup on your brows.
  • Be careful with the following medications. There are a few medications that we do not recommend using for 48 hours before the procedure. However, we do not recommend you to stop taking medicines important to your health without consulting your doctor! If you are unsure about the suitability of your medicine and microblading treatment, please always confirm the suitability of the treatment with your doctor first. For 48 hours before the treatment, we do not recommend aspirin or ibuprofen. We also recommend avoiding medications that have a strong effect on your body. If you use blood thinners, we recommend that you first consult your doctor and your microblading specialist about the matter.
  • Do not consume alcohol 48 hours before the procedure and do not drink caffeinated products on the same day. Caffeine accelerates blood circulation and can therefore affect the bleeding of the wound.
  • Avoid products with Retin A (tretinoin). If you use products that contain some amount of Retin A, we recommend that you stop using them one month before coming for the microblading procedure. This only applies to the eyebrow area. This also applies to products that contain vitamin A.
  • Avoid AHA skin care products before the procedure. Avoid AHA products (products that consist of alpha-hydroxy-acid) for about a week before the procedure. We recommend that you stop using anti-aging products in the eyebrow area two weeks before the procedure.
  • Do not donate blood on the same day as the procedure. This can put a strain on your body and you may feel weak. We recommend that you also refrain from donating blood the day after the procedure.
  • To achieve the best result in microblading, do not pluck or remove eyebrows with any technique at least one week before the procedure.
  • Be open about your allergies, chronic diseases and other things that affect your health. Tell the microblading professional anything you think is even remotely important, as well as any chronic illnesses or allergies you may have. Also list all the things about cosmetics that have had a negative effect on your skin. Be honest about everything that affects your health (NOTE! also pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc.)

Contraindications – Obstacles to microblading

If you suffer from diabetes or are on blood-thinning medication, please check with your doctor first if microblading treatment is suitable for you. If you are breastfeeding, please note that due to the anesthetic we use, you should not breastfeed for about 4 hours after the treatment, so that the anesthetic evaporates from your body completely. For hormonal reasons, the color may not adhere properly.

We do not do microblading:

  • If you are using Roaccutan or a similar isotretinoin medication, after Roaccutan you should wait six months before microblading treatment, due to the risk of skin scarring.
  • If you are prone to keloid scars.
  • If you are pregnant
  • If you have a permanent dye, paraphenyldiamine or hair dye allergy, it would be good to find out from your doctor what substance you are allergic to, and whether our microblading pigments contain a potentially allergenic substance.
  • If you are allergic to any of the product’s ingredients.
  • The skin of the eyebrow area is irritated.
  • The age limit for microblading is 18.

Microblading home care instructions

It is especially important to remember to keep the skin and eyebrows clean. Avoid the sun as well as swimming pools, solariums, saunas and heavy sweating during the healing period. Preparation and aftercare instructions are in this same text, please read them carefully as well.

Immediately after the treatment, we apply an aftercare gel to the treated area, which protects your skin for the next 24 hours. During this time, we recommend avoiding washing / letting the skin get wet, so that the pigment adheres to the skin properly. The gel makes a patch-like protection for your skin, allowing your skin to breathe as well.

24 hours after the procedure, gently rinse the eyebrows with water and add the first light layer of treatment cream.

For the next week, take good care of your hygiene, and always add cream two times per day (in the morning and in the evening).

In the coming days, the treated area will develop a slight dry “crust”, and the color will still look dark. The natural cell renewal process causes a slight flaky peeling on the skin. Flakes (slight “crust”) must not be scratched, crushed, scrubbed or picked off. Scraping prevents the pigment from remaining in the tissue and the end result is uneven. The permanent final result is up to 30% lighter than during the first 24 hours.

  • Do not scratch or rub the areas treated with the towel.
  • The area can be lightly patted. The dry skin comes off on its own.
  • Remember, the more carefully you care now, the longer the color will last on the skin.

What should be avoided during the microblading healing process?

For three days:

  • Avoid sports and sweating.

For a week:

  • Avoid makeup and all other creams except the treatment cream in the brow area.
  • Avoid sauna, bathing and swimming.
  • Avoid all facial procedures, eyelash extensions, facials, massages, etc.
  • Do not scratch, tear or unnecessarily touch the eyebrows.

For a month:

  • Avoid sunbathing, solarium and light treatments.
  • Avoid chemical peels, acids, micro dermabrasion and skin regenerating creams.
  • Also avoid laser treatments in the eyebrow area.
  • The use of antibiotics and hormonal medications can cause the pigment to wear off faster.
  • Always protect the eyebrows from the sun with sunscreen (not for the first week).

1. Be aware of the recovery phase

The more you know about the process, the easier it will be for you. The healing process can be divided into three stages: 1) healing of the surface layer of the skin; 2) exfoliation of dead skin; 3) reduction of pigment. During 2-4 weeks after the procedure, you will experience all these stages. Don’t hesitate to ask our microblading professionals more about these steps.

2. Treat your brows gently and don’t tear off dead skin

Do not touch the eyebrows with dirty hands! The skin around the eyebrows can become a bit sensitive, especially within 24 hours after microblading. If you want to wash the brows, do it with clean, lukewarm water gently, being careful not to press too hard on the brow area. After the procedure, small dry pieces consisting of dead skin, blood and pigment may come off the skin. At this stage of healing, the eyebrows itch, but they must not be torn or scratched under any circumstances.

3. Use treatment cream into the eyebrows

Grazia cream is the best treatment for eyebrows, as it is created to take care of pigmented areas. The cream can be applied to clean skin 24 hours after the treatment. We recommend lightly rinsing the eyebrows before applying the cream. Excess pigment, dead skin and blood/tissue fluid are washed away, and this way you get clean skin for the cream. Rinse and grease the brows thinly in the morning and in the evening.

4. Carefully protect your new brows for the first 3-4 days

The eyebrows are prone to infection 3-4 days after the procedure. Avoid touching the brows unnecessarily and wash and grease the eyebrows only with clean hands.

Avoid heavy sweating (including sauna) so that the pigment does not come off with the sweat. Swimming in swimming pools should be avoided for approx. 5-7 days, e.g. because of the high risk of infection. Also, for example, chlorine and other chemicals that the water contains may weaken the color retention or even change the color tone in the brows.

Don’t put makeup on the eyebrows during the first 5-7 days.

5. Avoid tanning beds

It is not recommended to use the solarium for at least two weeks after microblading. This recommendation also applies to the sun. Excessive exposure to the sun negatively affects the pigment that is deposited in the surface layer of the skin during the treatment. If the newly completed microblades brows receive too much direct sunlight, the pigment starts to evaporate faster than usual and the brows require a new, stronger reinforcement. The skin is also more sensitive to sunburn after treatment, so always protect your eyebrows with SPF 50 sunscreen. We recommend organic or other low-chemical grease as sunscreen.

6. Be careful with medical procedures

If you have been a blood donor, tell your microblade professional. Also talk to the nurse at the blood donation center if you are going for microblading. Depending on the situation, it takes 4-6 months after the procedure for the blood to return to its normal state. Normally, it returns to normal after approx. 1 week. In addition, procedures that use different laser techniques can delay the creation of microblading. Also, always tell your doctors about the microblading procedure before any kind of procedure.

7. No eyebrow makeup or anti-aging creams

For at least 7-10 days after the procedure, we recommend not to use any kind of makeup in the eyebrows. Also, don’t use anti-aging creams until the brows are completely healed. We recommend keeping all other creams and cosmetic products away from the brow area during the healing process.

8. The result after microblading is not final

For the next two days, the pigment will be at its darkest, so don’t panic. The final color of the eyebrows will not become darker than it was when you left the treatment. The color pigment fades a little after the procedure, when the brows start to heal. Asymmetry or e.g. small holes may appear in the eyebrows. This is completely normal and you don’t need to worry about it, the confirmation session is reserved just for these repairs! Remember that the actual result can only be correctly assessed after confirmation (5-10 weeks after microblading). The Touch Up strengthening treatment should be done no later than 10 weeks after the first treatment. The treatment interval cannot be extended, and unused Touch Up will not be refunded from the price of the treatment.

9. Don’t hesitate to contact microblading professionals

If you have any questions during the healing of the eyebrows, feel free to contact the microblading professionals. If your question concerns the appearance of the brows, please attach a photo of your own eyebrows taken in good light (info@bluelagoon,fi). You can also always come to the beauty salon.

10. After the procedure, the eyebrows are the customer’s responsibility.

After booking an appointment, you agree to follow the preparation and aftercare instructions mentioned above. You also sign a liability release form in our beauty salon before the treatment and confirm that you are 18 years old. So please remember that by following the instructions / properly preparing, the brows will improve quickly and the impression will remain good! Home eyebrow care affects the permanence of eyebrows and lines by about 70%, so carefully follow the instructions given to you.

11. Blue Lagoon quality guarantee

Eyebrows, like all the treatments we offer, have a guarantee. Are in contact with the beauty salon no later than 3 weeks after the confirmation, if you feel that there is something to fix in your eyebrows. Our professionals assess the situation. Please note that after the procedure the skin must heal for at least 5 weeks before a new treatment.

Preparing for permanent pigmentation

  • Check out the service information on our website first
  • You should be prepared for a little redness, it occurs in almost all customers. However, very severe redness is rare. Different skin types react differently to the procedure, so keep that in mind when making plans for the next few hours after pigmentation.
If you are unsure about the suitability of your medicine and pigmentation treatment, please always confirm the suitability of the treatment with your doctor first. For 48 hours before the treatment, we do not recommend aspirin or ibuprofen. We also recommend avoiding medications that have a strong effect on your body. If you use blood thinners, we recommend that you first consult your doctor and your pigmentation specialist about the matter.
  • Do not consume alcohol 48 hours before the procedure and do not drink caffeinated products on the same day. Caffeine accelerates blood circulation and can therefore affect the bleeding of the wound.
  • Avoid products with Retin A (tretinoin). If you use products that contain some amount of Retin A, we recommend that you stop using them one month before coming for the procedure.
  • To achieve the best result, do not pluck or remove eyebrows with any technique at least one week before the procedure.
  • Be open about your allergies, chronic diseases and other things that affect your health. Tell the pigmentation professional anything you think is even remotely important, as well as any chronic illnesses or allergies you may have. Also list all the things about cosmetics that have had a negative effect on your skin. Be honest about everything that affects your health (NOTE! also pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc.)

Contraindications – Obstacles to permanent pigmentation

In some cases of illness and medication, pigmentation is possible, as long as your doctor has first assessed the suitability of the procedure for you.

We do not do permanent pigmentation:

  • If you are on a course of medication or medical treatment, we can only do permanent pigmentation with written permission from your doctor.
  • If you have a chronic disease (e.g. diabetes, kidney or liver disease, cancer, heart disease, arrhythmia, etc.), we can only do permanent pigmentation with written permission from your doctor.
  • If you have an infection caused by a virus or bacteria (e.g. influenza, Hepatitis B, HIV, tuberculosis)
  • If you are using Roaccutan or a similar isotretinoin medication, after Roaccutan you should wait six months before pigmentation treatment, due to the risk of skin scarring.
  • Use of penicillin (weakens the adhesion of pigment to the skin).
  • Bleeding disease or blood thinning medication
  • Herpes
  • You feel sick (fever, flu, etc.)
  • If you are prone to keloid scars.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding (wait 3 months after giving birth, even if you are not breastfeeding)
  • If you have a permanent dye, paraphenyldiamine or hair dye allergy, it would be good to find out from your doctor what substance you are allergic to, and whether our pigments contain a potentially allergenic substance.
  • If you are allergic to any of the product’s ingredients.
  • If you have received radiotherapy less than 1.5 years before permanent pigmentation.
  • Bruising or swelling in the treated area
  • Rosacea, hemangioma or birthmark in the treated area
  • A cyst or other lump/pimple containing fluid in the treated area
  • If the skin of the treated area is inflamed (acne, rash, etc.)
  • The skin in the pigmented area is cracked or very wrinkled.
  • The age limit for pigmentation is 18.

Other things to consider before permanent pigmentation:

  • After the laser treatment, you must wait 2 months before permanent pigmentation can be performed on the lasered skin area.
  • Before permanent pigmentation, do not do a cosmetic whitening treatment.
  • No sugaring or waxing of the treated area 2-3 days before permanent pigmentation.
  • Do not use alcohol or drugs before coming for treatment.

Home care instructions for permanent pigmentation

It is especially important to remember to keep the skin and the pigmented area clean. Avoid the sun as well as swimming pools, solariums, saunas and heavy sweating during the healing period.

During the first 24 hours after permanent pigmentation, avoid wetting and touching the area. Also, do not put any cosmetics on the pigmented area during the first 24 hours after the pigmentation.

After 24 hours of treatment, very lightly apply the treatment cream to the treated area. Use the treatment cream lightly in the mornings and evenings for the next 7 days. Always touch the treated area with absolutely clean hands! You can take a shower, but the most ideal thing would be to avoid getting the pigmented area wet and the area sweating profusely for the first 1-4 days.

During the next week, take good care of your hygiene, and use the treatment cream thinly in the morning and in the evening.

In the coming days, the treated area will develop a slight “crust” of dry skin, and the color will still look dark. The natural cell renewal process causes a slight flaky peeling on the skin. Flakes (slight “crust”) must not be scratched, scrubbed or picked off. Scraping off the dry skin prevents the pigment from remaining in the tissue and the end result is uneven. The permanent final result is up to 40% lighter than during the first 24 hours.

  • Do not scratch or rub the areas treated with the towel.
  • The area can be lightly patted. The dry crust comes off on its own.
  • Remember, the more carefully you care now, the longer the color will last on the skin.

What should be avoided during the pigmentation healing process?

For three days:

  • Avoid sports and sweating and getting the area wet.

For a week:

  • Avoid makeup, oils, soap and all other creams on the pigmented area, except for the home care product.
  • Avoid sauna, bathing and swimming.
  • Avoid all facial procedures, eyelash extensions, facials, massages, etc.
  • Do not scratch, tear or unnecessarily touch the area.

For 2 weeks

  • Avoid exposing the area to the sun / solarium completely for 2 weeks after permanent pigmentation.
  • Do not peel the pigmented area.

For a month:

  • Still avoid sunbathing, solarium and light treatments.
  • Avoid chemical peels,  acids, micro-dermabrasion and skin regenerating creams.
  • Also avoid laser treatments on the pigmented area.
  • The use of antibiotics and hormonal medications can cause the pigment to wear off faster.
  • Always protect permanent pigmentation from the sun with sunscreen (not for the first week).

Don’t hesitate to ask our pigmentation professional more about these steps!

2. Treat the area gently and do not tear off dead skin

Do not touch the pigmented area with dirty hands! The skin around the treated area may become a little sensitive, especially during the 24 hours after pigmentation. After the procedure, small dry pieces consisting of dead skin, blood and pigment may come off the skin. In this healing phase, there may also be itching, but under no circumstances should the area be torn, scratched or peeled! The pigmented area should not be watered during the first 1-4 days. When you finally rinse the new permanent pigmentation, do it lightly with lukewarm water, then pat the skin area dry.

3. Use the treatment cream

The treatment cream can be applied 24 hours after the treatment. Grease the area thinly in the morning and in the evening.

4. Protect your new pigmentation precisely

The skin is susceptible to infection 3-4 days after the procedure. Avoid unnecessary touching of the area and grease the area only with clean hands.

Avoid heavy sweating (including sauna) so that the pigment does not come off with the sweat. Swimming in swimming pools should be avoided for 7 days, e.g. because of the high risk of infection. Also, for example, chlorine and other chemicals, which the water contains, may weaken the permanence of the color, or even change the tone of the color.

Please do not apply make-up or other cosmetics (except the treatment cream you received) to the permanently pigmented area during the first 7 days.

5. Avoid tanning beds and the sun

It is not recommended to use the solarium for at least two weeks after pigmentation. This recommendation also applies to the sun. Excessive exposure to the sun negatively affects the pigment that is deposited in the surface layer of the skin during the treatment. If the newly completed permanent pigmentations receive too much direct sunlight, the pigment starts to evaporate faster than usual, and the pigmentations require a new, stronger reinforcement. The skin is also more sensitive to sunburn after treatment, so always protect permanent pigmentation with SPF 50 sunscreen.

6. Be careful with medical procedures

If you have been a blood donor, tell your pigmentation specialist. Also talk to the nurse at the blood donation center if you are going for pigmentation. Depending on the situation, it takes 4-6 months after the procedure for the blood to return to its normal state. Normally, it returns to normal after approx. 1 week. In addition, procedures that use different laser techniques can delay the creation of permanent pigmentation. Also, always tell your doctors about pigmentation before any kind of procedure.

7. No makeup and no anti-aging creams

For at least 7 days after the procedure, we recommend not to use any kind of makeup on the treated area. Also, don’t use anti-aging creams until permanent pigmentation has completely healed. We recommend keeping all other creams and cosmetic products away from the treated area during the healing process.

8. The result after pigmentation is not necessarily final

For the next two days, the pigment will be at its darkest, so don’t panic. The final color will not become darker than it was when you left the treatment. The color pigment fades a little after the procedure, when the area starts to heal. The price of new permanent pigmentation includes, if necessary, a confirmation 4-6 weeks after the first visit. The Touch Up strengthening treatment should be done no later than 10 weeks after the first treatment. The treatment interval cannot be extended, and unused Touch Up will not be refunded from the price of the treatment.

9. Don’t hesitate to contact the pigmentation professionals!

If you have any questions during the healing process, feel free to contact our professionals! If your question concerns the appearance of pigmentation, please attach your question directly from the area of the photo taken in good light (info@bluelagoon.fi). You can also always visit our salon!

10. After the procedure, pigmentation is the responsibility of the customer.

After booking an appointment, you agree to follow the preparation and aftercare instructions mentioned above. You also sign a liability release form in our beauty salon before the treatment and confirm that you are 18 years old. So please remember that by following the instructions / properly preparing, the pigmentation will improve quickly and the brows will remain good! Home care affects permanence by about 70%, so carefully follow the instructions given to you.

11. Blue Lagoon quality guarantee

Permanent pigmentations, like all the treatments we offer, have a guarantee. You must contact the salon no later than 3 weeks after the confirmation session, if you feel that there is something that needs to be corrected in your permanent pigmentation. Our professionals assess the situation.

Medik8 Chemical Peels

Things to consider before Medik8 acid treatment

  • Please note that acid treatment cannot necessarily be combined with other facial treatments at the same time. For example, sugaring of the face area cannot be done together with acid treatment. If you have 2% salicylic acid, AHA/BHA, steroids, Retinol, natural cosmetics used at home and self-tanner on your face, your skin may react strongly. These products should not be used 7 days before the treatment and 7 days after the treatment.
  • If you have had fillers applied to your face in the last two weeks, you should wait 2 weeks until chemical peel can be done.
  • Medik8 acid treatments may activate lip herpes. Possible herpes prevention treatment before acid treatment should always only take place according to the doctor’s instructions.
  • We recommend to start using the effective vitamin C and A serums 2 weeks before the treatment and to continue for at least 3 months after the treatment in order to get the most out of the treatment for your skin. Our selection includes these effective Medik8 serums.
  • If the skin has been burned in the sun, you have to wait until the skin has completely healed and regenerated from the burn. The skin must also not be treated with chemical peel if it is red from the sun. Sun exposure should be avoided for 72 hours before chemical peeling.
  • The skin may peel, redden and peel after the treatment, so we do not recommend the treatment before an important trip/occasion.
  • Smoking can slow down the healing process.

Before the first Medik8 chemical peel, we recommend making an appointment for a special facial treatment consultation, where a skin care professional will map your skin’s needs, condition and perform a skin test. In this way, we can tailor a facial treatment that is just right for you. An appointment for a special facial treatment consultation should be booked at least 48 hours before the treatment. The consultation of the special facial treatment is free of charge.

Especially those with sensitive skin (and easily reactive skin) should have a consultation before the actual treatment.

  • If an unusual reaction occurs on the skin after the treatment, please contact the beauty salon  that performed the treatment immediately.

Preparation for spray tanning

When you come for a spray tan, you don’t have to know yourself which color is best for you. Our spray tan professional listens to your wishes and needs and gives you the best recommendation based on that. The color extract is layered on the skin in 1-2 layers, depending on how dark you want the final result. With one layer, you get a light, natural tan, and the more layers you spray, the darker and more intense the tan.

The price of our spray tan includes a maximum of two layers of color extract. If you want a more intense tone than this, 1.5 times the service price will be charged for the third layer and twice the service price for the fourth tanning layer. Not all customers’ skins may receive 3-4 layers of tanning, and unabsorbed color may wash off in the shower, so we recommend 1-2 layers for tanning.

If there is old self tan left, the service does not include our guarantee.

We do not recommend the following treatments on the same day as tanning: facial treatments, Lash Lift, eyebrow tinting, sugaring, relaxing massages, microblading and permanent pigmentation. If you book a pedicure or nails for the same day, please make sure that in your appointment the pedicure or nails come first and after that the spray tan.

Guarantee period for spray tanning

Spray tanning done at Blue Lagoon has a 48-hour guarantee period after the service is performed. If there has been some kind of error in the product or the implementation of the service, this will appear immediately after the first wash. If there is old tan on the base of the new spray tan, the service is not guaranteed. If you notice something unusual in the end result, please contact our quality control directly with photos: laadunvalvonta@bluelagoon.fi. The contact must take place within 48 hours of the implementation of the service.

How to prepare for a spray tan:

  • If you want, remove the skin hairs at least a day before, so that your skin pores have time to calm down and close, so that the tanning extract does not accumulate in your skin pores.
  • Exfoliate and moisturize your skin well the day before the tanning treatment (remember elbows, ankles and knees or other particularly dry parts of your body), but make sure that the exfoliator and moisturizer you use does not leave an oily surface on the skin.
  • The skin should be clean before treatment. Make-up, deodorant, perfumes, the previous day’s creams etc. should be washed off at home before treatment, so that the end result is as even as possible. Wash your skin lightly with water and a body washcloth.
  • Take your old bikini or underwear with you, alternatively you can get disposable thongs from us for tanning.
  • Choose loose, dark clothes to avoid possible stains on your clothes and rubbing marks from clothes on your tan.
  • If you want beautifully tanned skin for an important day, we recommend making an appointment 2 days before.

Home care instructions for spray tanning

  • Avoid swimming, showering, cosmetics and sweating after tanning during the next 8 hours, when the color is still developing.
  • The control color comes off in the first shower after treatment. In the first shower, clean your skin only with water, not with shower soap, because the color may still develop a little after the shower.
  • After showering, pat your skin dry so that your tan stays even for longer.
  • You can maintain your tan at home by moisturizing your skin carefully.
  • You can make your tan last longer by using self-tanning products at home after spray tanning.

Preparation for sugaring

When you come to sugaring for the first time, the hair should be 0.5-1 cm long so that it comes off easily. There should be at least 14 days after shaving before sugaring. When sugared regularly, even hairs shorter than this start to come out.

Applying sugar paste to long hairs may feel more unpleasant and “blocking”, but long hairs can be shortened first at home or the salon if necessary. The cosmetologist cleans your skin before sugaring, so you don’t have to prepare for sugaring in any way – other than by growing a little hair. Exfoliating the skin the day before sugaring is not recommended. It is recommended to avoid the use of very oily or greasy products in the area to be treated just before the treatment, as it can make it a little difficult for the sugar to stick to the hair.

Here’s how you can prepare for sugaring:

  • Do not remove the hair before the treatment, the hair should be 0.5 – 1 cm long.
  • You don’t have to grow hair really long for sugaring.
  • Do not exfoliate the area to be sugared for 24 hours before the treatment.
  • Avoid particularly oily products on the treated area right before the treatment.
  • Before Brazilian sugaring, please wash yourself in our toilet.

Obstacles for sugaring

  • Age limit for Brazilian sugaring is 18
  • Product allergies
  • Broken skin, fresh scars
  • Roaccuta, isotretinoin and other similar medication courses (6-month break from the medication)
  • Medicinal creams in the sugared area
  • Sunburnt skin in the sugared area

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. It is good to note that hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect e.g. skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, hair, etc., so if pregnancy or breastfeeding are not mentioned in the barriers to the service, taking treatment measures during pregnancy and breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

Home care instructions after sugaring

  • The skin must not be peeled the day before, the same day, or the day after sugaring.
  • It is good to avoid sports and saunas for 12 hours.
  • After sugaring the armpits, avoid using deodorant for 12 hours.
  • After sugaring the facial area, avoid blocking makeup for 12 hours.
  • Exfoliate your skin 2 times a week and moisturize daily so that the hairs can grow back normally
  • Remember to protect your skin from the sun in the days after sugaring. The cosmetologist also moisturizes your skin with a soothing treatment cream that protects sensitive skin.
  • Redness of the skin after sugaring is completely normal. If your skin is very red after sugaring, immediately after the treatment avoid tight, abrasive clothing, heat such as a hot bath, solarium or sunbathing, or scratching or rubbing the skin.

Preparation for pedicure

  • If you have any wishes regarding the intensity of the massage or anything else, please tell the beautician and she will take them into account. Please also tell the beautician if you are particularly bothered or worried about something related to your feet, or if you want special attention to it in the treatment.
  • If you have particularly challenging feet or type 1 diabetes, we always recommend consulting a podiatrist.
  • We recommend coming to the pedicure without nail polish, so that the treatment time is not spent removing the nail polish.
  • Please note that pedicure treatments are performed by a beautician in our beauty salons.

Obstacles for pedicures

  • Product allergies
  • Nail diseases and infections (fungi, cuticle infections)
  • Infections on the soles of the feet (fungi, warts)

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. It is good to note that hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect e.g. skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, hair, etc., so if pregnancy or breastfeeding are not mentioned in the barriers to the service, taking treatment measures during pregnancy and breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

Home care instructions after pedicure

  • At home, feet should be treated daily with a moisturizer. Remember to rub the cream on the cuticles as well.
  • At home, shorten the nails with nail scissors or nail clippers, but not too short, because the nail’s job is to protect the skin. Nails that are cut too short can cause soreness and chafing of the ends of the toes, as well as ingrown nails.
  • At most once a month, you can thin out corns or calluses by lightly scraping or using a pumice stone.
  • At home, you can also exfoliate your feet or use foot masks.

Preparing for the massage

Both our massages use a classic manual massage that targets the skin, fatty tissue and muscles. Relaxing massages are typically performed by beauticians, in which case the goal of the massage is to care for the skin, promote the client’s health and relax. If you want a stronger muscle massage, we recommend contacting a sports masseuse.

You don’t need to make special preparations when you come for a massage. Our professional will discuss your wishes together with you before starting the treatment. During the massage, the client is covered up, and only one treated area is exposed at a time. When massaging the back, the customer has to lie on their stomach, which could damage any makeup, so we don’t recommend coming for a massage right before an important trip.

Obstacles for massages

  • Product allergies
  • Avoid essential oils during pregnancy
  • Broken skin
  • Inflammatory skin diseases
  • (Smell hypersensitivity)

We do not recommend massage for areas with:

  • Inflammation
  • Wound
  • Varicose
  • Venous occlusion
  • Ischemic tissue
  • Bruise
  • Sprain / muscle strain
  • Fracture
  • Irritated mole

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. It is good to note that hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect e.g. skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, hair, etc., so if pregnancy or breastfeeding are not mentioned in the barriers to the service, taking treatment measures during pregnancy and breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

After the massage

  • Drink enough water
  • Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours
  • Try to keep your day unhurried and as relaxed as possible to get the most out of a relaxing massage

Obstacles to lymphatic therapy

Lymph treatment cannot be done in the following situations:

  • Bacterial / viral inflammation in the body
  • Flu / fever
  • Venous occlusion
  • Cancer in the treatment stage (the customer must confirm with the doctor before the service)
  • Rose
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Heart failure
  • During pregnancy, mechanical lymph treatment is not recommended
  • The age limit for lymph treatment is 16 years

Lymphatic treatment of the facial area cannot be done successfully if you have a long beard.

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be implemented.

Preparing for makeup

  • We recommend that you write / state your age, hair color and briefly the condition of your skin or other considerations, such as glasses, etc., in the information of the appointment. With the help of preliminary information, our makeup artist can prepare in advance for possible special needs.
  • In the booking information, it would be good to also mention the occasion for which the makeup will be used, e.g. photoshoots, weddings, parties, interviews, etc.
  • We recommend going through the makeup photos and showing them to your makeup artist. This makes it easier for the makeup artist to understand your wishes, especially regarding the intensity of the makeup.
  • If possible, we recommend coming to the makeup without make-up + moisturizer on your face.
  • If you wish, you can bring your own lipstick, which is easy to add during the day.
  • If you wish, you can also bring your own mascara, which is the best way to apply mascara during makeup, but this is of course not mandatory.

Preparing for a haircut

There is no need to wash your hair before you come to get your hair cut. The hairstylist washes the hair before cutting, because it is usually easier to cut wet and clean hair. Be prepared to answer questions like how you style your hair, where you like the parting, and what kind of wishes you have for the cut. Based on the answers, our hairstylist will be able to create a hair model tailored just for you, which also fits your styling routine. If you wish, you can also bring pictures of hairstyles you like. Based on the pictures, it is easier for our professionals to understand your wishes as accurately as possible.

When can you not get a haircut?

Hair cutting cannot be done if the hair is not allowed to be washed. If the hair is cut and it has styling products or is dirty, the stylist’s scissors may suffer and become dull, which also leads to a low-quality cut. Also, hair cutting cannot be done when the customer is sick (fever, flu, etc.).

Home care instructions

In connection with the hair cut, the stylist guides how the cut should be maintained. Different cutting models require different maintenance. Short models require a haircut more often than, for example, long layers. A sharp polka or a bob cut require styling at home so that the end result looks as desired.

Guarantee

A possible complaint must be made within a week of the implementation of the service. We handle each complaint on a case-by-case basis. Our guarantee  conditions include careful compliance with home care instructions.

Preparing for highlights

If you want a bigger color change, it’s a good idea to book an appointment for a color consultation first. It is also a good idea to make an appointment for a color consultation, if you wish for a so-called “strand test”, which allows us to test whether your hair can withstand bleaching. During the consultation, our professional evaluates which technology is right for you, so that the end result is pleasant and high-quality.

There is no need to wash your hair before you come to this service. The hair’s natural oils protect the scalp well during bleaching, so you should avoid washing your hair 1-2 days before the striping service.

If you wish, you can also bring pictures of hairstyles you like. Based on the pictures, it is easier for our professionals to understand your wishes as accurately as possible.

When highlights can’t be done?

Hair lightening highlights cannot be done if the stylist determines that your hair cannot withstand lightening or that the desired end result cannot be achieved in a high-quality and safe manner. Highlights also cannot be done if:

  • You feel sick (fever, flu, etc.)
  • If you are pregnant. The highlights does not affect the scalp, but the tint used at the wash station does. For this reason, the highlight service cannot be performed during pregnancy.
  • You are allergic to bleach or ppd
  • You are under 16 years old

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. It is good to note that hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect e.g. skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, hair, etc., so if pregnancy or breastfeeding are not mentioned in the barriers to the service, taking treatment measures during pregnancy and breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

Home care instructions

After the service, our stylist will give you care instructions so that you can maintain the final result as well as possible at home. It is important to take good care of bleached hair at home so that it is possible to treat the hair in the future. We recommend K18 Leave-in Molecular Repair Mask for home treatment.

The washing water may contain metals, so we strongly recommend using a shower filter. It is also good to use deep cleansing shampoo regularly and to maintain lightened tones with silver shampoo or tinting conditioner recommended by professionals.

Guarantee

A possible complaint about the bleaching work must be made within a week of the implementation of the service. We handle each complaint on a case-by-case basis. Our warranty conditions include careful compliance with home care instructions.

Preparing for service

We ask that you make an appointment for a color consultation before booking an appointment for the color correction service. During the consultation, our hair professional will estimate how much time the work will take, and at the same time you will also get an estimate of the price of the work. The service is billed by the hour. All color corrections are different and depend very much on the starting situation, the condition of your hair and your wishes. Because of this, more challenging repairs may take more time.

There is no need to wash your hair before you come to the color correction service. The hair’s natural oils protect the scalp well during bleaching, so you should avoid washing your hair 1-2 days before the service. You can also show pictures of your desired end result if you wish.

When can the service not be performed?

The service cannot be performed if the barber-hairdresser determines that your hair cannot withstand bleaching. If the barber-hairdresser determines that the end result you are hoping for is too challenging, and it is not possible to implement it in a high-quality and safe way. Our barbers and hairdressers are responsible for the implementation of the service, and give their own professional opinion in the consultation, which is held before the service is performed.

  • You feel sick (fever, flu, frostbite, etc.)
  • If you are pregnant
  • You are allergic to bleach or ppd
  • You are under 16 years old

Preparation for hair coloring

If you want a bigger color change, it’s a good idea to make an appointment for a color consultation. It is also a good idea to make an appointment for the color consultation if you would like a so-called “patch test”, which allows us to test your sensitivity to the hair dyes we use. Of course, you can always get a complete confirmation of allergies in an allergy test performed by a doctor.

You don’t need to wash your hair before you come for coloring. The hair’s natural oils protect the scalp well during dyeing, so you should avoid washing your hair 1-2 days before dyeing.

If you wish, you can also bring pictures of hairstyles you like. Based on the pictures, it is easier for our professionals to understand your wishes as accurately as possible.

When can you not dye your hair?

If you are allergic to dyes or suspect an allergy, unfortunately our professional cannot dye your hair. You cannot also dye your hair if:

  • You feel sick (fever, flu, etc.)
  • If you are pregnant
  • You are under 16 years old

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. Preparing for hair extensions

An extension consultation is always mandatory before attaching new extensions. During the consultation, the hairstylist will choose the right color extensions and the technique for your hair. The required amount of hair and the length of the extensions are also estimated during the consultation, so you will also get an accurate estimate of the final price of the hair extensions during the consultation.

When can hair extensions not be done?

  • The hair is too fragile and cannot withstand the weight of the extensions
  • You feel sick (fever, flu, etc.)
  • If you are pregnant
  • You are under 16 years old
  • If you have hair loss due to medication or illness

Pregnancy / breastfeeding

If the obstacles to the service include pregnancy or breastfeeding, the service cannot be done. It is good to note that hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect e.g. skin, eyelashes, nails, eyebrows, hair, etc., so if pregnancy or breastfeeding are not mentioned in the barriers to the service, taking treatment measures during pregnancy and breastfeeding is the customer’s own decision and therefore the customer’s responsibility.

Home care instructions for hair extensions

  • After the service, the hair must not be washed for two days.
  • The hair must also not be fixed in a tight ponytail or bun for a week after service, as the extensions need time to settle.
  • Extensions may only be washed with products intended for them, generally all moisturizing shampoos and conditioners are suitable for extensions. Make sure from our professional that the home care products are suitable for your extensions.
  • Wash the extensions carefully with shampoo and remember to rinse properly so that the shampoo does not remain in the attachment points. If shampoo remains on the attachment points, it may irritate the scalp and cause itching and irritation.
  • It is good to have a shower filter for your home, as it removes metals from the shower water, so that the metals do not end up in your hair and extensions. As a result, the extensions also stay in better condition
  • Do not use treatment products that fix the structure! The exception is the K18 Molecular Repair Mask, which is also suitable for extensions. Do not apply conditioner to the attachment points. Apply the conditioner only to the ends.
  • Also, other dissolving products such as hair oil must not be applied to the attachment points. If these types of products end up between the tapes, the extensions may slide or even come off, because the attachment point is no longer secure.
  • Brush the extensions by supporting the attachment point with the other hand.
  • When sleeping, you should fasten the extensions in a braid or bun.
  • It is also recommended to always apply a heat protectant to the extensions before heat treatment.
  • Extensions must not be exposed to chlorine water. If you go swimming, protect the extensions from chlorine water. If the extensions get spoiled in chlorine water, their warranty is no longer valid.
  • Avoid saunas.
  • Protect the extensions from the sun with a hat or UV protection products.

Do not let the maintenance interval go too long. As your hair grows, the extensions are still attached to the attachment point where they were originally attached, so the extensions need to be lifted regularly. If the extensions “hang” too long in the hair, they strain your own hair with their weight and can thereby damage your own hair. The maintenance interval for tape extensions is 6-8 weeks and the maintenance interval for seal extensions is 3 months.

Mago Extensions

  • Brush your hair at least twice a day using the Simply Natural extension brush only. Always start from the ends and work your way up.
  • Style, blow-dry, and wash your extensions as you like, but treat bonds carefully.
  • Use Simply Natural Leave-In Spray during heat styling. It provides shine, softness, and heat protection.
  • Wash your scalp gently from front to back using fingertips. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Avoid rubbing the roots. Apply conditioner from mid-lengths to ends, leave it for 3 minutes, and rinse well.
  • Towel dry and apply leave-in conditioner to lengths. Avoid washing with your head upside down and never tie up wet hair.
  • Always dry your extensions before sleeping and braid them loosely for the night.
  • Use the cool setting on your blow-dryer. Excess heat can damage the bonds.
  • Natural heat won’t harm your extensions, but never enter a sauna with conditioner in your hair.
  • No special masks or conditioners are needed for Simply Natural hair.
  • Tie your hair neatly when swimming. Wash and condition immediately afterward. Avoid chlorine and saltwater exposure—chlorine can dry and discolor hair.
  • The Simply Natural 3-month warranty is valid only when using care products specifically designed for these extensions.

Guarantee

Extensions can be transferred within 2 weeks of the implementation of the service. The extensions are fixed according to the same pattern, unless the customer wishes otherwise. This pattern does not work for all customers and you only notice it after the extensions have been washed and attached to the hairpiece. If the extensions are noticeably visible and you have not agreed on a different or special attachment with the stylist, you can move the extensions to a better place that better suits the shape of the head. We handle each complaint on a case-by-case basis. Our guarantee conditions include careful compliance with home care instructions.

Preparation for intensive hair treatment

Intensive hair care treatment can be booked as an additional service with our hair services. There is no need to prepare separately for intensive hair treatments.

When can intensive hair treatment not be done?

If you feel sick (fever, flu, frostbite, etc.) or have, for example, a contagious respiratory infection, you cannot come for treatment.

If you feel sick or have, for example, a contagious respiratory infection, you cannot come for treatment.
