1. Be aware of the recovery phase
The more you know about the process, the easier it will be for you. The healing process can be divided into three stages: 1) healing of the surface layer of the skin; 2) peeling of dead skin; 3) reduction of pigment.
Within 2-4 weeks after the procedure, you will experience all of these steps. Don’t hesitate to ask our microblading professionals more about these steps.
2. Handle your eyebrows gently and do not tear the dead skin
Do not touch the brows with dirty hands! Around the eyebrows, the skin can become a little sensitive especially within 24 hours after microblading. If you want to wash the brows, do so gently with clean lukewarm water, being careful not to press too much on the skin. After the procedure, small dry pieces of dead skin, blood and pigment may come off the skin. At this stage of healing, the eyebrows itch, but by no means should they be torn or scratched.
3. Apply the treatment cream to the eyebrows
Bepanthen (blue) is the best treatment as it is a light and breathable cream that heals wounds quickly. The cream can be applied 2-4 hours after treatment to clean skin. We recommend lightly rinsing the brows before applying the cream. Excess pigment, dead skin and blood / tissue fluid come off when washed, enabling you to put the cream for clean skin. Rinse and put the cream thinly in the morning, during the day repeat rinsing and greasing the brows several times and in the evenings before going to bed rinse and grease a slightly thicker layer.
4. Protect your new brows carefully for the first 3-4 days
eyebrows are prone to infection 3-4 days after the procedure. Avoid touching the brows unnecessarily and only wash and grease the brows with clean hands.
Avoid heavy sweating (including sauna) so that the pigment does not leave with the sweat. In swimming pools, bathing should be avoided for approx. 5-7 days, e.g. due to the high risk of infection. Also, for example, chlorine and other chemicals contained in water may weaken the pigmentation or even change the pigment color.
Don’t put makeup on the eyebrows for the first 5-7 days.
5. Avoid tanning beds
It is not recommended to use the solarium for at least two weeks after microblading. This recommendation also applies to the sun. Excessive sun exposure negatively affects the pigment placed on the surface layer of the skin. If the new microblading brows receive too much direct sunlight, the pigment will begin to fade away faster than usual and the brows will require a new stronger treatment. The skin is also more sensitive to burning in the sun after treatment, so always protect your brows with SPF 50 sunscreen. We recommend a physical cream as a sunscreen.
6. Be careful with medical procedures
If you have been a blood donor, tell your microblade professional. Also talk to your caregiver if you are going to microblading. Requires, depending on the situation, 4 months to 6 months after the procedure, that the blood returns to its normal state. Normally, it returns to normal after about 1 week. In addition, procedures using different laser techniques can delay the making of microblading. Also, always tell your doctors about any microblading procedure before taking any action.
7. No eyebrow makeup or anti-age creams
For at least 7-10 days after the procedure, we recommend not to use any makeup on the eyebrows. Also, do not use anti-age creams until the brows are completely healed. We recommend keeping all other creams and cosmetics out of the eyebrow area during the healing process.
8. The result immediately after treatment is not final, but fades slightly as the brows begin to heal
For the next two days, the pigment will be at its darkest, so don’t be intimidated. The final color of the brows does not turn darker than what it was when you left the treatment.
The pigment fades slightly after the procedure as the brows begin to heal. Asymmetry or, for example, small gaps may form in the brows. This is normal and you don’t have to worry about it, the Touch Up treatment is booked for these! Remember that the actual result can only be properly assessed after Touch Up (5-10 weeks after the first microblading treatment).
9. Do not hesitate to contact microblading professionals
If you have any questions during the healing, feel free to contact the microblading professionals. If your question concerns the appearance of the brows, please attach a picture of your own eyebrows taken directly in a good light (firstname.lastname@example.org). You can also always come to the salon!
